Custom Aire has served my home in Center City Philadelphia for more than 10 years. We are on our third multi-year service contract. The office staff is highly professional; easy to place a request, do follow up and close out the job. It's not fun for staff to deal with I-95 traffic and the shortage of parking spaces. A number of service providers won't work in Center City any more. Custom Aire techs show up with a smile and a sense of humor regardless of what they might have experienced before getting to my house. The improved use of technology has been a nice addition. It's Sept 8 and we're set for the Winter.
I've been using Custom Aire for over a dozen years and have enjoyed fairly consistent service. I had a new unit installed ten years ago and have used their yearly spring/fall maintenance contracts. The service techs coming out have always been a pleasure to work with, including my most recent experience with Matthew Gallagher. He calls to let me know he is minutes away and shows up on time. Clad in booties and a mask, Matt was personable and polite and even talked to my kitties. He was thorough with the maintenance and I felt very comfortable. Jessica followed through after the visit and helpfully addressed issues I had with a new contract. She is always pleasant and helpful. As for cost, a bit on the high side but reliable and easy to schedule an appointment.
My air conditioning system broke down and Custom Aire, as always, was right there for me. Jessica is always Amazing! Responsive! and Gracious! and she set everything up for me. Matthew Gallegher is Terrific! and he did the repair. He was skillful, careful, precise, and kind. I am forever grateful for Custom Aire and their spectacular team.

I have not had a chance to go to your digital site to thank you. Since December 16th, 2017, I have been immersed in a large family crisis, based in health issues. In that crisis, my senior mom's original furnace (1956!) died. This happened just before unheard of freezing temperatures and between Christmas and New Year's, 2017.I have been a Custom Aire customer for at least 15 years. Three years ago we upgraded our entire system (row house in Philadelphia). I have referred all of you to many friends over the years. I couldn't imagine asking anyone else for advice. Please let everyone at Custom Aire know that the job your men did installing central air conditioning in our house was the best work I've ever seen. Our house is old, made of 18" exterior stone walls and full of complicated interior walls and floors. I don't believe any other company could have done the job. Joe and Bob rose to the challenge and found ways of getting the tubes into all the rooms, time and time again. As I look around, I am thrilled with what I see. Their work is meticulous. Because they work in every room and every closet, there are endless possibilities for "screw-ups." There are none. The men were punctual, polite, and professional. What a team! No loud music, no yelling, no arguing. My wife and I came to think of them as family.
Coming up on the one-year anniversary of our Heater & AC install, all I can say is it was the best decision we made. From your first consultation visit to the final post installation follow-up, the thoroughness to ordering details and care during installation has resulted in our complete satisfaction in this purchase. We would just like for you to know what a great job all of you did. The installers were terrific, conscientious, diligent, and easy to work with. Thank you for sending them. I don't think I realized the extent of the repairs needed going into this, but there are really good results. For instance, our second and third floor rear rooms never had any flow, and today they are working well. After a shake down period, we might ask for some help in balancing the system, or possibly changing the boots on one or two kitchen floor vents, but let's see what we need a week or two from now. The condenser is silent, even of stage 5. The basement unit is also so quiet that you only hear airflow noise, not the blower. And on heat, the exhaust vent is extremely quiet. We are very happy we went with Carrier. Thank you again. experience.
Good morning. This message is to commend the high level of quality and customer service I've received from your installation team. I was dreading having the interior air conditioning system replaced in my unit, but the installers made it painless. They were professional, patient, and thoroughly respectful of my property throughout the process. During the installation, they answered all of my questions which was really helpful. They were extremely careful, cleaning up after themselves, leaving no mess or damage. I also need to compliment them. They've been enormously helpful in answering questions and overseeing the exterior installation. Taking the heat from the outside air and moving it into your home, heat pumps eliminate the need for costly natural gas systems to keep your home warm all winter long. But with the chill in the air during the coldest months of the year, how does your heat pump find heat to bring into your home to begin with? What needs to be done to keep it in the best working condition? Here are just a few things all homeowners should know about their heat pump in winter.
As one of the most cost-effective HVAC options on the market, your heat pump is proving to be a great investment. Taking the heat from the outside air and moving it into your home, heat pumps eliminate the need for costly natural gas systems to keep your home warm all winter long. But with the chill in the air during the coldest months of the year, how does your heat pump find heat to bring into your home to begin with? What needs to be done to keep it in the best working condition? Here are just a few things all homeowners should know about their heat pump in winter.
How It Works during Winter Months
You know all too well what’s happening outside this time of year – howling winds, frigid temperatures, and endless ice and
snow. It seems downright impossible that a heat pump in winter would be able to find any outside heat to bring into your home at all.
That’s the amazing benefit of heat pumps – they will always be able to source heat out of the air, even in the depths of the winter season. Think of it this way. During the summer, your heat pump’s cooling mode utilizes refrigerant to collect the heat indoors and force it outside. During the winter, it does the opposite.
The refrigerant acts again as a sponge, but this time it collects heat from the outside air and pushes it inside. Even in temperatures in the teens and 20s, there is still enough heat in the air for the air pump to do its job and sufficiently heat your home.
That’s the amazing benefit of heat pumps – they will always be able to source heat out of the air, even in the depths of the winter season. Think of it this way.
