We Also Offer Geothermal Systems & More
Custom Aire can keep your HVAC equipment operating at peak performance, but we also offer a variety of additional services designed to save energy, improve comfort and keep the environment in your home safe and healthy.
Geothermal Heat Pumps
Geothermal heat pumps provide an environmentally-friendly alternative to traditional HVAC equipment. Also known as “ground source heat pumps,” these units take advantage of the consistent temperature of the earth to maximize the efficiency of the heat exchange process.
Geothermal heat pumps use up to 60 percent less electricity than forced-air systems of similar capacity. The units are very quiet and contain fewer moving parts than conventional HVAC systems. Homeowners who install a geothermal heat pump may be eligible for federal, state and local incentives. Custom Aire has many years of experience installing geothermal equipment, and we can answer any questions you may have relating to the installation process, efficiencies and cost.
Indoor Air Quality
Active families move around a lot, and a variety of toxins and pollutants are brought into the home on a daily basis. This includes dirt, pollen, mold spores, smoke, dust, fungi and dander. To keep the air inside your home healthy, it is important to adopt an indoor air quality strategy that includes:
- Filtration: Filters are vital for eliminating airborne contaminants and keeping critical HVAC components clean. A filter’s efficiency is rated according to its Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value (MERV), which is a measurement of the quantity and size of contaminants a filter captures. For most systems, a filter with a minimum MERV 7 rating is recommended.
- Ventilation: Mechanical ventilators compensate for tight perimeters by introducing a specific quantity of fresh air into the living area on a continuous basis.
- UV Germicidal Lamps: Fungi, mold and other contaminants thrive in the dirty and moist recesses of your HVAC equipment. A UV lamp inserted into the A-coil will kill harmful organisms and eliminate certain noxious gasses.
- Air Humidifiers: Proper humidity levels are critical for maintaining healthy indoor air and maximizing comfort. A central humidifier will help prevent wood from cracking and lessen the effects of dry skin.
