Air Conditioning
When you're ready to look into purchasing a new air conditioner, either to drastically reduce your energy usage or because repairs on your current system are costing you more than what they should, Custom-Aire is here to help you every step of the way.
There are nearly as many choices in cooling equipment as there are in buying a car. You want what's right for your lifestyle and desires. That's why we carry only the best brands and install products that meet federal and state rebate programs.
Central air conditioning is a split system, with some components installed outdoors and others indoors. Central air conditioners are given a Seasonal Energy Efficiency Rating, or SEER. The SEER number is calculated by dividing the cooling capacity of a continuously operating air conditioning by the electrical input required to run it. For example, a 12 SEER rating is now the lowest number allowed, and any number larger than that is more efficient and will cost less to operate. To find out what system would work well with your home, a comfort specialist will go out and size the existing system. This is a very important part because if it is sized too small, the system will struggle, and even freeze over, even on the hottest days. If sized too large, the system will cycle on and off too frequently, greatly reducing its ability to control humidity. It will also be less efficient.
We will help you determine which system is right for your home's size and floor plan, and also meets your family's air quality requirements, needs and wants. When considering the new system, think carefully about what air quality and moisture control components to include, particularly if anyone in your family has allergies, respiratory or health issues, or dry scalp and skin. High-efficiency equipment may nearly pay for itself in utility savings, so efficiency level is a very important factor to consider.
